Winter Social Sessions: Instagram - Canberra Event

Description:

Tuesday 22nd August
9:30am - 11:30am
Speaker: Sheena Ireland
Topic: Winter Social Sessions - LinkedIn

This winter in Canberra we are diving deep into social media with our Winter Social Sessions.

Each month we will be focussing on one popular social media channel and showing you how you can make the most of it for your business. These sessions follow our social media workshop with Sheena Ireland of Specialists in Communications, in April.

August is all about Instagram.

It's the platform that has launched successful businesses and influencers; however, it continues to baffle many. Instagram is a platform going through change after the rise of 'bots' and 'fake followers'.

With change comes opportunity and those who continue to grow real reach through considered content can grow their profile and their business to reach new heights. Hear about the changes and help see if Instagram is the right platform for your business.

A little about Sheena Ireland:

Sheena Ireland, Director of Specialists In Communications has worked in a range of marketing and communications areas for over a decade, she has watched the growth of social media for business and witnessed way too many businesses spend too much time trying to draft and post the ‘perfect’ Facebook, Twitter and Instagram posts, only to see them get mixed amounts of engagement and no actual business sales or real leads.

She has a passion for leadership, writing, organisational communications, media management, social media marketing, strategy development and government relations.

Throughout her communications career, she is pleased to have helped small and large organisations manage their public profile, build their client base, implement change and respond to issues.

As a passionate advocate for local business, she has helped many small businesses in Canberra with their social media marketing, blog writing and targeted client communications activities. This includes through her role as founder and editor of The Local Look, an e-magazine and blog showcasing Canberra businesses and telling the stories of Canberrans.
