Technology Isn’t The Bad Guy

Many new business owners, don’t embrace technology.
I know that is a very general statement to make but when I talk technology so many of the clients I work with say things like “Oh that’s not me. I’m people orientated. I need to be with people and not online”.
And that’s fine if you want to limit your practice to your local community but if you really want to grow your business you need to start using technology such as Skype, social media, email, SMS, accepting credit card payments and so on to help you.
With modern technology, distance is no longer an issue. Can you conduct a healing session via Skype or the telephone? Of course you can. The speed and quality of online communication today is incredible and it’s best to use that to your advantage.
If you provide a modality that is hands on, such as massage, you can still start using technology around your treatments. Some great ways to start are SMS reminders a day prior to the appointment, automated follow-up emails that send out after a treatment, and putting your appointment calendar on your website so that people can see when you are available and perhaps even make a booking online.
Using technology and your imagination you can come up with new, better ways of doing what you’ve always done. Your clients will appreciate it and you’ll be amazed at how much easier it will make things for you.
Rather than resisting technology due to fear or lack of knowledge, start thinking about how you can embrace it and use it to enhance your business.
